Highland Wind Farm, PA
The Highland North Wind Farm is located in the townships of Adams and Summerhill, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, The projects is situated on mixed use land owned by both public and private landowners. Construction began in spring of 2011 and project became operational in early 2012.

The project utilizes 32 Nordex N100 turbine generators, each with a nameplate rating of 2.5 megawatts. In total, the Highland North Wind Farm has the capacity to generate approximately 75 megawatts of electric power – producing enough electricity to power about 20,000 households each year.

Economic Benefits of the Highland North Wind Farm
• The Highland North Wind Farm will make approximately $7 million in payments to the state, local townships and Forest Hills School District over its lifetime.
• The Highland Wind Farm will use approximately $2 million in local goods and services for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind farm. Much of these goods and services will be secured from the region.
• The operation maintenance will require up to seven-full time positions, shared with the Highland Wind Farm.
• The project represents a capital investment of over $240,000,000 and helps support a robust Pennsylvania wind industry that includes manufacturing, engineering, technical expertise, finance and many other disciplines.
