• The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was accepted as complete by the Town of Allegany Planning Board on 2/24/10. Copies are available at the library and Town Hall.
• State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Process completed
• Environmental review process nearly completed
• Interconnection application in progress
• Construction expected to begin in 2011

Economic and Environmental Benefits
• The Allegany Wind Project will make approximately $10 million in payments to the County, School District and Town over 20 years.
• Construction of the project will require local labor as well as local services and construction materials. It is expected to have a $53.7 million impact on the region.
• The operation and maintenance of the project will require four to six full-time employees.
• The Project will offset
- CO2 emissions by nearly 400 million pounds per year
- SO2 emissions by nearly 3 million pounds per year
- NOx emissions by over 800,000 pounds per year
