| The Allegany Project is
located on more than 7,000 acres of wooded ridgeline in the Town of
Allegany, NY. The project is located in a remote area used for timber
and oil activities that continue today. Project Characteristics Location: Cattaraugus County, New York Project Size: 65-80 MW Developer: EverPower Owner: EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc. Project Status • The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was accepted as complete by the Town of Allegany Planning Board on 2/24/10 • State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Process underway • Environmental review process started • Interconnection application in progress • Construction expected in early 2011 Economic and Environmental Benefits • The Allegany wind project will make payments to the County, the School District and the Town. • Construction of the project will require local labor and well as logistic and materials resources. • The operation and maintenance of the project will require 2 to 4 full time employees. • The Project will offset - CO2 emissions by nearly 400 million pounds per year - SO2 emissions by nearly 3 million pounds per year - NOx emissions by over 800,000 pounds per year For more specific project information and updates please visit www.alleganywind.com |
